When the founders of our nation wrote the outstanding row of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were making a promise to every person in the States.
This was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
However, it has become clear today that America has failed to stand by this promise where citizens of different sexual orientations are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has pushed the LGBT community aside. But, I fail to believe that America truly believes that not offering everybody acceptance and opportunities is right. So it is time make a stand- a stand that will give the LGBT community the right to marry and the feeling of acceptance. It is also time to remind America of the fierce urgency of now.
